Marcus Paige Signs Contract with Utah Jazz

Former UNC guard Marcus Paige has signed a contract with the National Basketball Association’s Utah Jazz, the team announced on Monday. The Jazz took the four-year Tar Heel in the second round of the NBA draft earlier this summer. Paige averaged more than 13 points and four assists per game during his time in Chapel Hill, including leading UNC to the National Championship game as a senior. UNC Men’s Basketball Places Three on NABC Honors Court

The UNC men’s basketball team showed its academic chops Wednesday, when it was announced that three seniors from last year’s Final Four squad earned spots on the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honor Court. Marcus Paige, Justin Coleman and Toby Egbuna were each selected as recognition for their achievements in the classroom. Marcus Paige had to sit and wait through 54 picks during Thursday’s NBA Draft–anxiously awaiting a moment he’d been imagining his entire life. With only six picks before the end of the draft, time was running out. NBA teams will be adding new employees on June 23.  One of those employees could be Marcus Paige. In an article for the Players’ Tribune, a website founded by Derek Jeter that features posts written by professional athletes, the former UNC guard shared his “application” to the NBA. UNC to Play Indiana in Bloomington for ACC/Big Ten Challenge

UNC men’s basketball announced in a release on Tuesday afternoon it will travel to Bloomington, Indiana on Nov. 30 for a Sweet 16 rematch against the Indiana Hoosiers. The game will be played in historic Assembly Hall as part of the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and televised on the ESPN family of networks. UNC seniors Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige were both honored on Tuesday evening during the men’s basketball team end-of-year awards ceremony.
