Longtime Carrboro Police Chief To Step Down This Year

CARRBORO – North Carolina’s first openly gay police chief plans to call it quits after nearly three decades working in Carrboro. Since joining the Carrboro Police Department in 1984, Carolyn Hutchison has pretty much done it all: after starting off as a new patrol officer, she then moved to narcotics, became an investigator, then moved on to deal with juvenile crime and administrative services.
