Not all UNC fans were happy after Thursday night’s win over rival Duke.  Ticket troubles resulted in many people getting turned away from Dean Dome doors.

Some fans were told their tickets purchased through UNC for the Duke game, which was postponed due to the snow storm last week, were void when Smith Center Staff scanned them at entrances Thursday.

A long time UNC fan told WCHL News that she was re-directed to the UNC Ticket Office after being told her ticket was void.

She said the line at the ticket office, filled with angry and disappointed fans, stretched back to the UNC Basketball Museum. Fans, some of whom were yelling out of frustration, were still waiting in the line as the game was underway.

The fan was told that her ticket had been sold through StubHub!. The Ticket Office confiscated her ticket without discussions of reimbursement.

The Carolina Ticket Office issued a statement, which in part read:

“We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience with the difficulties presented by last week’s inclement weather. Athletic Department and Rams Club Staff worked diligently to overcome the logistical challenges encountered and we are now thoroughly analyzing the components involved so we can continue to improve our service to all of our fans.”
