UNC officials have identified the first person fired in the wake of the Wainstein report.

Multiple media agencies are reporting that academic counselor Jaimie Lee was fired on October 22, the same day the report was released. The report implicated Lee in the system of fake classes and inflated grades that were used to keep some athletes academically eligible to play.

The paper class fraud spanned 18 years, ending in 2011.

While university officials said nine employees were being disciplined or fired due to the report, they declined to release any names, until a lawsuit filed by local media organizations forced them to make that information public.
