CHAPEL HILL- Is it possible that President Kennedy was assassinated by accident? On this graduation weekend, the UNC class of 1963 will host its 50th class reunion, always a milestone of sorts. James Reston Jr., then a Morehead scholar, now a famous writer and author of 13 books, talked with us on WCHL about his recollections of the Civil Rights era.

Reston’s 14th book will be out in September, titled The Accidental Victim. The book concludes that John Connally was Lee Harvey Oswald’s target in Dallas in 1963. Today, while James Reston in town for the reunion, I have that story, in Reston’s own words, exclusively for WCHL.
