A portion of a Chapel Hill roadway will be closed overnight for approximately the next two weeks in order for a pipeline to be relocated.

Town officials say PSNC Energy will be closing the right turn lane of westbound South Estes Drive at the intersection with East Franklin Street for the construction. The work is scheduled to take place from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. and begin on Friday, June 9.

Right turns will be allowed during the work, according to a release, but caution is encouraged when navigating the work zone.

The Walgreens at the intersection will only be accessible from the Franklin Street entrance while the construction is active.

Officials anticipate the work being completed on Friday, June 23, weather permitting.
