****UPDATE: All travel lanes reopened just before 12:30 Tuesday afternoon.****

Two of the three southbound lanes of I-85 at the merge with I-40 in western Orange County are closed Tuesday morning due to a wreck.

Officials with the North Carolina Department of Transportation say the wreck at mile marker 163 was reported just after 10:15 Tuesday morning. The Orange Rural Fire Department Twitter account said crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash with injuries in the area the DOT reported the closure.

The wreck is expected to impact traffic until close to 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, according to the DOT website.

There is no word as of this posting detailing severity of the wreck or injuries. Roadways are slick Tuesday as central North Carolina is dealing with rain and winds associated with the remnants of what was Hurricane Irma.
