An accident on I-40 approaching the merge to I-85 (Mile Marker 259) caused trouble for Friday afternoon commuters headed west in Orange County. The left lane was blocked for westbound motorists. Eventually, the wreckage was moved off of the road.
Drivers experienced stop and go traffic on I-40 westbound between New Hope Church Road and I-85. There was also slow traffic for eastbound motorists.
