Chapel Hill emergency officials are on the scene of two reported gas leaks Monday afternoon.
Both gas leaks were reported within 15 minutes of each other, beginning with a leak on Piney Mountain Road near Old Forest Creek Road, which is off of Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard in northern Chapel Hill.
A second leak was reported on Eden Lane off of Ephesus Church Road around 1:30 Monday afternoon. The leak is directly across from Ephesus Church Elementary School, but officials from the town and school system said that they were not aware of the leak causing any issues or changes with the school.
Chapel Hill officials said PSNC crews were on scene for any needed repairs at both sites and were asking motorists to avoid each area until further notice.
