A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Friday morning in Carrboro, police have confirmed.

An accident was initially reported just before 8:45 at the intersection of Weaver and Greensboro Streets. Carrboro Police Chief Walter Horton confirmed that a pedestrian was struck at that intersection.

Horton wrote in an e-mail that the victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to UNC Hospitals for evaluation.

There has been no update of the pedestrian’s condition.

Police say the vehicle was in violation at the time of the crash and the driver has been charged.
