A collision on NC 54 in Orange County on Thursday resulted in the death of a moped driver.
Officials with the North Carolina Highway Patrol say troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision near Carl Durham Road near White Cross just before 4:30 Thursday afternoon.
Authorities say a moped was traveling north on Carl Durham Road when the driver attempted to pull onto NC 54. The moped then struck the side of a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer while the pickup was traveling on NC 54.
The driver of the moped was pronounced dead at the scene, according to law enforcement.
Officials say the incident is still under investigation.
