Remembrance events were held across our community on Monday to commemorate the 16th anniversary of the terror attacks on September 11, 2001.
A Patriot Day commemoration ceremony was held in Chapel Hill Town Hall with Chapel Hill police chief Chris Blue and Mayor Pam Hemminger speaking to an audience that included first responders from across our community. You can watch the entire ceremony on the town’s Facebook page.
The day also began with a stair run at UNC’s Kenan Stadium with members of the university’s ROTC program taking part along with Chancellor Carol Folt.
