Children were uninjured when a bus carrying students from Carrboro Elementary School was involved in a wreck Tuesday afternoon.
Chapel Hill – Carrboro City School spokesman Jeff Nash told WCHL that a second bus picked the children up and that the school principal rode home with the students “to make sure they all go home safely.”
The accident caused Highway 54 eastbound lanes to close at West Poplar Avenue.
Carrboro Police tweeted at 4:39 Tuesday afternoon that Highway 54 was reopened to traffic.
