CHAPEL HILL –  High school graduation is in full swing this weekend, and while many people in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro district will be focusing on the big three high school, district spokesperson Jeff Nash says Phoenix Academy often gets overlooked.

“Phoenix is graduating Friday at 6:00 p.m.…at Phoenix Academy,” Nash says. “They have four graduates this year. The other three schools will all be graduating on Saturday at the Dean Dome.”

Phoenix Academy is an alternative school that serves about 40 high school students. It’s mission is to provide a highly-structured education plan so as to try to get the students back to their home school if possible.

Friday night’s graduation begins at 6:00 p.m. at Phoenix Academy on South Merritt Mill Road in Chapel Hill.
