Colin Beavan, author of No Impact Man, will speak on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Carrboro High School Auditorium.
Beavan is being hosted by the Carrboro High School Academy of International Studies.
He is well known for attempting to live a “Zero-Impact” lifestyle, where he and his family attempted to live for one year without producing any non-compostable trash, purchasing no goods except for food grown within 250 miles, using no carbon-based transportation and no paper products.
During his visit to Carrboro High, he will spend part of the day with the school’s ninth-grade AIS students.
His speech will be open to the public.
Tickets for adults are $25, students and CHCCS employees are $15.
