In an event at UNC System President Tom Ross’ house, Kidzu raised over forty thousand dollars.

Kidzu development director Kate Sullivan said the money will go to help underprivileged kids in the area.

“We wanted raise funds specifically to support the educational program,” she said. “That includes providing access to any underserved kids in our community.”

Kidzu Children’s Museum offers programs for children to help them learn about the arts, STEM and many other subjects.

“The money will provide some no cost field trips to Kidzu, so that they can come during the school year and take advantage of all of the programming we have.” Sullivan said.

The money will also go towards expanding their STEM program and give six scholarships for summer camps.
