ORANGE COUNTY – More North Carolinians, including those in Orange County, claimed to be without jobs in November compared to October, but numbers are still better than a year ago.

Orange County reported 5.7 percent of its citizens without jobs compared to nine percent statewide in November. Orange County had the lowest unemployment rate that month while Graham County had the highest at 16.3 percent. Last year, 6.1 percent filed for unemployment in Orange County.

The change within the county from month to month is a 0.1 percent increase, which reflects that of the state as well; North Carolina increased from 8.8 to nine percent.
