You’re invited to enjoy “Cupcakes & Cocktails” on Sunday, April 12, from 2-4 pm at City Kitchen to benefit the Orange County Rape Crisis Center.

Cupcakes & Cocktails launched last year and is now an annual event. There will be a cupcake contest with special guest judges, a drawing to win a baker’s dozen date nights (13 gift certificates for dining and other events around the Triangle), and more – plus cocktails and all-you-can-eat cupcakes.

Proceeds will benefit the OCRCC, which provides 24-hour crisis intervention service for survivors of sexual violence and educational programs to raise awareness and prevent sexual violence from occurring in the future.

Last year's guest judges included Sugarland's Katrina Ryan, Orange County Commissioner Mark Dorosin, Andrea Griffith Cash of the Chapel Hill Weekly, and Estes Hills Elementary student Paige Gillon (as well as Aaron Keck).

The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In addition to Cupcakes & Cocktails, the OCRCC will also host the 13th annual Shout Out! Against Sexual Violence at the Chapel Hill Public Library, Tuesday, April 21 from 6-8 pm. And throughout the month, local businesses and community members will join forces with the OCRCC in an effort to “Paint the Town Teal” – wearing teal clothes and teal ribbons and hosting benefit events all month long.
