The Seymour Center will be extending its operating hours starting later this month.

The Orange County Department on Aging announced the center, located on Homestead Road, will expand evening hours to close at nine o’clock each night Monday through Thursday. There will also be extended hours on Saturday mornings when the center opening 30 minutes earlier at 8:30.

Senior centers administrator Myra Austin said this moves comes to accommodate working adults.

“The new hours will allow us to add new programs and activities, as well as provide an opportunity for baby boomers to take part in the great things that we offer,” Austin said in a release.

Overall, the center will now operate from 8 am – 9 pm Monday through Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm Friday and 8:30 am – 5:30 pm on Saturday.

The new hours begin September 12.
