HILLSBOROUGH- The Orange County Public Library received nearly 100 toys and more than 1,000 pounds of food as part of this year’s “Food and Toys for Fines” Drive.

Throughout the holidays patrons were invited to donate food or toys in exchange for reduced library fines.

This year more than 200 people participated in the program. The library forgave about $1,800 in late fees.

The food and toys were distributed by Orange Congregations in Mission and Toys-for-Tots in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Social Services.
