CHAPEL HILL – Meadowbrook Drive could be reopened by the end of the month as construction on the flood-damaged road began this week.

The June 30 flood and heavy rains on the days leading up to and following the flood caused the road damage forcing it to be closed to through traffic.

Work is expected to be completed around August 30, though inclement weather could delay the progress. The road will remained closed to through traffic until the reconstruction is complete.
