The Komen Race for the Cure is celebrating its 20th anniversary Saturday June 11 at the frontier in RTP starting at 7:30 a.m.
This is the first time the Komen Race for the Cure is being held in RTP. Officials say the new location allows for the Komen Race for the Cure to expand their race and enhance the event.
The 20th anniversary celebration will feature an inspirational Survivor Celebration, according to a release, honoring those who battled breast cancer and remembering those who lost their lives.
Along the 5K course runners, walkers and supporters will be greeted by live music and other surprises.
The event will also feature 12 food trucks, a beer garden with three local breweries, a bounce house and Disney characters.
Those looking to participate can sign up on the day of the event in person.
