Chapel Hill’s Town Hall is set for a re-opening of its ground floor after more than a year spent fixing water damage and renovating the building on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

About 13 months ago, flooding caused significant damage to the first floor of the 43-year-old building. The Town of Chapel Hill responded with storm water management improvements, designed to reduce the risk of future flooding, according to a press release issued by The Town of Chapel Hill.

The renovated space will include a new Development Services Division, which is described in the press release as an effort to improve the town’s development process.

The new offices are expected to open at 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on August 11.

The target date for completion of Council Chamber renovations is September 2014.
