Agriculture aficionados and farm fans have a reason to celebrate with the grand opening Saturday of the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center.

According to a press release from the county, over 75 exhibitors were scheduled to be present at the opening in support of agricultural support and advocacy.

Representatives from the Forest Service are set to be on site with the iconic Smokey Bear to showcase a firefighting helicopter and educate attendees on fire safety.

The purpose of the new center is to consolidate the offices of Chatham County Corporate Extension, Farm Service Agency and other agricultural organizations under one roof.

A variety of food trucks and musical acts will be present at the event, which is scheduled to run until 2:00 PM on Saturday.

Residents interested in attending the festivities can find the center by traveling one mile west of the traffic circle at 1192 US 64 West Business Route in Pittsboro.
