This weekend, Woods Charter School (in the Chatham County portion of Chapel Hill) is hosting its annual Winterwoods Holiday Shoppe and Into the Woods 5K – two events held simultaneously to benefit Woods’ programs, including athletics and teacher development.
Winterwoods Holiday Shoppe takes place on Friday the 13th from 5-9 pm and Saturday the 14th from 8 am to 2 pm, featuring work from dozens of local artists and artisans (including many from the Woods community). The Into the Woods 5K – a literal run “into the woods,” as half the course goes through a wooded trail – will begin on Saturday morning at 9 am (with a chili cookoff to follow).
Woods assistant principal Cindy Sperry and elementary PE teacher Sherry Esquilla joined Aaron Keck on WCHL Wednesday to discuss the weekend’s events.
