Researchers at UNC are cautioning you to be sure you get proper medical information and don’t just rely on medical testimonials on the Internet.
Joseph Simons is a 2013 Ph.D. graduate in social psychology at UNC, and Melanie Green is an assistant professor of psychology in UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences. Together they authored “Distracted by Details: Narrative Influence Following Conflicting Stories”.
In a release, Green says people often identify with others who they have something in common with rather than stepping back and analyzing the information completely. She says it’s important to have someone do that, especially with complex medial conditions and treatment options.

Those visitors spent $29.47 million last year which County Manager Charlie Horne says he is delighted to see. He says the increase provides more demand for visitor services which creates more jobs.
The report showed that visitors in ChathamCounty last year employed more than 170 people and generated payroll of $3.40 million.Did you see something wrong in this story, or something missing? Let us know
