ORANGE COUNTY – Your local sheriff will call it quits at the end of his term.

After 32 years of service, Orange County Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass will not seek reelection, according to the Durham Herald Sun.

He says he’s done all he could and it’s “time to go home.”

Retired public information officer, Charles Blackwood, has expressed his interest in the position and said before this announcement that regardless of who’s running, he will seek the position.

Orange County residents will choose your next sheriff November 2014.
