“It is such an honor to win this award two years in a row,” Stutts said. “I really am flattered and humbled. I’ve been doing this a long time, and it really means a lot that my colleagues appreciate what I do.”

The award was presented Tuesday at the Washington Duke Inn in Durham during the NCAB’s annual convention.

The veteran morning show host will celebrate 37 years since his WCHL debut on July 11. He can be heard on weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on 97.9 FM and 1360 AM.

In addition to hosting the morning show, Stutts produces the daily feature called the Village Pride Award where the station honors someone who has contributed to the community. He is often heard covering breaking news, weather, and sports events at any and all times of the day. On home football Saturdays, Ron can be seen and heard at a local establishment hosting Countdown to Kickoff; and before men’s basketball games, can often be heard hosting Countdown to Tipoff. Outside the walls of WCHL, he can also be seen emceeing events throughout the community all year long. You’ll see him next Friday night hosting the Fourth of July celebrations at Kenan Stadium.

The NCAB presented its first radio and television awards last year. Stutts won the inaugural Personality of the Year award in 2013.
