CARRBORO – The Orange County Public Library, Carrboro Branch, has a new selection of books and movies to illuminate the experience of immigrants in America.

Most Americans can trace their heritage to immigrants from all parts of the world.  Immigration is a topic integral with our culture and can now be found in books, audio books, and DVDs at the Carrboro Branch Library and the OCPL Cybrary.  Be sure to visit and check out the new selection.

Hillsborough Public Works Department offers collection for bulk items once a month during the second full week. For September the collection will begin on the 8.

Brush collection will also begin the week of September 8 and again on September 22.

Bull’s Head Bookshop will host Peter Rizzolo and his new book “Forbidden Harvest.”

Rizzolo received training at Hunterdon Medical Center in New Jersey and practiced family medicine for 15 years before becoming director of the residency training program.

“Forbidden Harvest” is a medical thriller that delves into preserving human organs for transplants and the journey that one physician and the family of a 13-year-old boy go to find a heart.  With a background in the medical field for many years Rizzolo’s book is sure to captivate.  He will be at Bull’s Head Bookshop on September 17 at 3:30 p.m.
