ORANGE COUNTY – The Orange County Public Affairs Department is launching Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep residents and visitors up to date with County news and events. The accounts will serve as the official social media platform for Orange County government.
The director of Public Affairs, Carla Banks, says “The County is excited to join the ranks of social media and provide this option for folks who are more likely to access updates from Facebook and Twitter.”
Residents are encouraged to “Like” and “Follow” the Orange County accounts and can do so by typing OCNCGov in the search box of both sites, or by clicking on the following links:

The Orange County Department on Aging will host the Summer Art & Jazz program at the Seymour Center, featuring photography by local artist Dave Otto. Otto’s “In the Spirit” Exhibition is on display on Monday, June 10 and Tuesday, July 11, at the Robert and Pearl Seymour Center.
Marie Vanderbeck’s Jazz Trio is performing at an opening reception on Monday, June 10, from 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m.

Summer beach music is back at University Mall with the return of the Sweet Carolina Concert Series. The popular series hosts outdoor free music concerts held in the parking lot in front of Dillard’s, located on S. Estes Drive.
The concerts are held Thursday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. through July. Food and beverages can be purchased on site, and patrons are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
An outdoor dance floor allows for shag dancing, and “The Kid’s Corner” offers a mini dance floor and a large jump house courtesy of Chick-fil-A and University Mall.
