Head to the DSI Comedy Theater this weekend and catch one of the most acclaimed improv comedy teams in the country.

The team is “North Coast.” Based out of New York City, North Coast blends improvised comedy with improvised beatboxing and freestyle rap. They’ve performed in the area before, at the North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, but they’re making their debut appearance at DSI’s new space on West Franklin Street.

North Coast will perform on Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9, with shows at 8:30 both nights. For advance tickets, visit DSIComedy.com.

Tuesday, August 5, is “National Night Out” across America, and local police departments are joining in.

The Chapel Hill PD is asking all neighborhoods to participate. On Tuesday night from 6-8 p.m., you’re invited to lock your doors, turn on your outside lights, and spend the evening outside with your neighbors and members of the police force. Neighborhoods across the country will be hosting events ranging from block parties to parades.

It’s the 31st annual “National Night Out.” The event is designed to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness and develop safer communities by forging partnerships among neighbors and between residents and police.
