The work is schedule to be completed by September 30.

The Orange County Health Department is expanding its services through a partnership with Piedmont Health in an effort to minimize the gap in affordable health services in the county.

Beginning Wednesday, Piedmont Health will provide patients within the Orange County Health Department’s Hillsborough clinic location with outreach services. The goal is to help establish primary care to those who are currently ineligible for services at the OC Health Department.

During the partnership’s pilot phase, a medical team from Piedmont Health will see patients on Wednesdays from
8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Health Department’s clinic located at 300 West Tryon Street in Hillsborough. Adding
four hours of clinical time each week will enable an additional 40 patients to receive care per month. Services will
be provided by Dr. Oscar Cornelio and medical assistant, Mauricio Flores. Payment options include Medicaid,
Medicare, private insurance, and self-pay based on a sliding fee scale. Appointments can be made by calling
Piedmont Health at 336.562.3311.
