CHAPEL HILL – Bull’s Head Bookshop will host several authors this month.  John Milliken Thompson will come to Bull’s Head on September 13 for his new book Love and Lement.

The book is set in rural North Carolina between the Civil War and the First World War, Love and Lement chronicles the Hartsoe’s family extraordinary hardships and misfortunes.

Thompson’s debut novel, The Reservoir, received great reviews and was hailed as “pitch-perfect” by the Washington Post.  In his new book Thompson has expanded the richness and depth of his storytelling powers to describe the life of the Hartsoe family at the turn of the century.

The Friends of the Carrboro Branch Library and the Orange County Arts Commission present The Hillsborough Gallery of Art.  The event will last through October 14.  The Library Arts Program, is an artist-operated program that has shown work for more than 1650 local artists.

On September 7 Carolina Connection radio program will have a show with Louis Fernandez as anchor and James Kaminsky anchors sports. The program will feature several stories with updates on what is going on around UNC, including a possible interview with Carol Folt.

The stories includes a Faith Hedgepeth Anniversary, talk on future teachers in North Carolina, information on Burmese refugees in the area, gluten-free diets, the Connect Carolina hacker, tunnels under UNC Campus, and more.
