RALEIGH – North Carolina’s unemployment rate reached its lowest point in more than four years in March, according to the North Carolina Department of Commerce.

The Labor and Economic Analysis Division announced North Carolina’s smoothed seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped 0.2 to 9.2 percent from February to March this year. That’s in line with the national rate that saw a drop of 0.1 to 7.6 percent.

Orange County numbers remained the best in the state in February. County-by-county numbers are scheduled to be released May 1.
