Last Thursday, the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness hosted “Project Connect,” an annual event that connects local service providers with residents who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The purpose of “Project Connect” is to give at-risk residents a chance to access job training and placement, education, medical, dental, legal, and other essential services, all in an easy one-stop setting. This year’s event at the Hargraves Community Center served more than 200 guests – and brought together about as many volunteers, to make it all happen.

After the event, Orange County Homeless Programs Coordinator Jamie Rohe spoke with WCHL’s Aaron Keck about the next steps – including a new way of assessing the event’s long-term success, as well as a new approach to finding affordable housing for those who need it.
