Residents of Orange County with a desire to see the world are now able to obtain their travel passports at the Register of Deeds under new municipal regulations.
Passport service is available at 228 South Churton Street, Suite 300 by appointment only from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on weekdays.
Register of Deeds Mark Chilton noted that his staff members are “excited to bring this new service to Hillsborough and look forward to helping Orange County residents.”
Passport applicants over the age of 16 can expect to pay initial application fees that total $135, with expedited service available at an additional cost of $60.
All applicants are encouraged to view passport rules and regulations at travel.state.gov before calling 919-245-2681 to book appointments with the register.
