CHAPEL HILL – The Chapel Hill Town Council will discuss the planning process for the proposed Obey Creek development at a work session Monday night.
The council voted in March to consider using a development agreement process to evaluate a plan to build a mixed-use village on 124 acres across from Southern Village.
Town officials negotiated a similar agreement with UNC for the build-out of the Carolina North campus, but this would be the first time the council has used the development agreement process to work with a private developer.
Tonight the council will consider how best to engage residents and make use of public input.
The council meets at 6:00 p.m. Monday in the new meeting room at the Chapel Hill Public Library.
