Coming up within the next two weeks, Chapel Hill will be hosting the Mayors Innovation Project conference.

Chapel Hill Mayor, Mark Kleinschmidt, spoke with WCHL’s Aaron Keck about the conference and what they seek to accomplish.

“We’re going to have mayors from all around the country and now other parts of the world coming to Chapel Hill to learn about new ideas on how cities operate and how we can move our communities into the future,” says Mayor Kleinschmidt.

The meeting will take place on August 20-22. Attending mayors will share their own strategies as they learn about Chapel Hill’s planning process, how the towns encourages participation from the community, and gather knowledge about sustainability.
