RALEIGH – There’s been a location change for the NC NAACP’s candle light vigil tonight in Raleigh. Due to possible inclement weather, it’s been moved from outside the NC General Assembly to the Martin Street Baptist Church— it’s happening at 7 p.m.

This is following the arrest of more than two dozen protesters Monday night inside the State Legislative Building. Last week 17 were arrested during a similar rally at the same location.

Members say the protests won’t stop until they feel their voices have been heard and acknowledged. They are calling it a “wave of civil disobedience.”

Chapel Hill-Carrboro NAACP chapter members will take part in the vigil—including Bishop Larry Reid of Cathedral of Hope Mission Church in Carrboro.

Tune into the WCHL Morning and Afternoon News tomorrow for a full recap.
