Due to an extra vacancy on the Chapel Hill/Carrboro School Board, an extended filing period will be added for additional candidates to have the chance to file for election.

The board agreed on October 2 to October 6 to be an adequate time for a filing extension period.

Annetta Streater, whose term was originally set to expire in 2019, is stepping down from her position on the board. James Barrett, Joal Broun, and Andrew Davidson’s terms all expire this year. Barrett and Broun are running for reelection.

Since Streater’s term only has two years left, the candidate that comes in fourth will replace her. The top three vote-getters will fill the other three positions.
