CARRBORO – Carrboro aldermen will meet Tuesday to discuss how to fill Lydia Lavelle’s vacant seat.
Lavelle was elected mayor, leaving a seat on the board empty since she took the oath of office last week.
The aldermen can chose to appoint a new member or hold a special election at the same time as the May primary. Board members will discuss both options and possibly decide on one Tuesday night.
Board members will also receive a staff report on how to manage the town’s supply of parking downtown.
The board of aldermen meets Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Carrboro Town Hall.
