They say it’s OK to talk as long as you can back it up.

Tar Heels tight end Eric Ebron certainly can as the team’s likely MVP and most electric performer to this point of the season.

ebronEbron is doing his best to put a charge into Saturday’s showdown at NC State, taking to twitter to create some punch in a rivalry that has lacked fireworks the last few years.

“All Of These Wolfpack Fans Are In For RUDE AWAKENING Come Saturday! #BeatState #BADLY,” Ebron tweeted shortly after UNC’s 34-10 win over Boston College Saturday.

Ebron sure has treated defenders rudely, racking up 35 catches for 599 yards and three scores. Ebron played his best on the biggest stage, collecting eight catches for 199 yards and a touchdown in a heartbreaking 28-24 loss to Miami on October 17.

Even as the week progressed Ebron, who could be the top tight end selected in the next NFL Draft should he forgo his senior year, indicated he wasn’t ready to back down from his comments about the Wolfpack.

“I Am On My Mike Tyson Swag This Week,” he tweeted on Tuesday afternoon.

Ebron has proven he has the ability to throw the knockout punch, as well.
