Filing for the 2016 election is in its second week and names continue to trickle into the race.

Andy Cagle has filed as a Democratic candidate for the at-large seat on the Board of County Commissioners up for election.

Cagle ran unsuccessfully for Sheriff in 2014.

Current board vice chair Bernadette Pelissier announced that she would not be seeking re-election to that at-large seat.

Mark Marcoplos and Matt Hughes have announced their intention to run for that seat but neither has officially filed at this point.

Three other seats on the board will be voted on next year. Mark Dorosin and Penny Rich have each filed for re-election to their District 1 seats. No challengers have filed.

Primary voters will have a race to sort out in District 2 where Bonnie Hauser has filed to run against incumbent Renee Price.

Early voting for the 2016 primary runs from March 3 – March 12, with the primary election on March 15.
