CHAPEL HILL – Chapel Hill Town Council candidate, Amy Ryan, says planning and development will be a major point of focus if elected to the Council.

“Now we’ve got the job of implementing,” Ryan says. “That means we’ve got to start drilling down, making some of those hard decisions, looking at the different trade-offs, and weighing the conflicts between our different aspirations for the town.”

WCHL’s Ran Northam spoke with Ryan about her seeking election to the Town Council and how she believes she’ll best serve you.

Nine candidates are contending for four seats on the Town Council.

Ryan says she would bring experience in town issues to the Council that other candidates and current members don’t have.

“I’ve got a degree in landscape architecture,” Ryan says. “The other members of council and the other candidates don’t bring that perspective, and that’s a lot of what the work of the Council is about. And, again, I’ve got ten years of experience working with those issues working with the Town, so I would hope to bring that to the Council Chamber.”

Between now and Election Day, we’ll be previewing each of the candidates one-on-one.
