A presentation on the total cost of the Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit Project will be made tonight during a meeting of the Orange County Board of Commissioners.

The services of Davenport & Company were retained by board members in December to clarify the financing mechanisms and risks associated with the project.

Those mechanisms and risks will be addressed by financial advisors in the Whitted Human Services Center at 7:00 PM along with cost share and transit tax assumptions.

Project managers at GoTriangle are currently working to secure government grants for the proposed commuter rail corridor, whose total cost may exceed $2 billion.

The presentation planned for tonight is likely to address ways in which the county, state and federal governments can divide that cost in order to permit the construction of the project.

Davenport & Company continues to provide fiscal guidance to Orange County as an investment services group that has advised clients since its inception in 1863.
