A path for cyclists near the PTA Thrift Shop in Carrboro will be shut down next week while sewer pipe repairs take place.

According to a release from the municipal government, repairs will start on Monday and continue through Friday.

Cyclists and pedestrians who make use of the path are encouraged to use South Greensboro Street as an alternate route.

Town officials approved an easement for the path in 1989 as part of efforts to expand the shop, which has operated since 1952.

The path connects West Carr Street to the intersection of West Main Street and Jones Ferry Road.
