On Thursday, U.S. Marshals in Durham arrested a Chapel Hill man following a domestic violence incident that took place last Saturday.

32-year-old Jermond Mon’ya Freeman of Chapel Hill has been charged with assault by strangulation and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force made the arrest in conjunction with Durham Police after Chapel Hill Police issued a warrant.

The arrest took place on Thursday afternoon, in an apartment in eastern Durham. Police found Freeman hiding in the bathroom.
