Separate cases against the two suspects in the 2015 shooting death of an infant in Chapel Hill have reached conclusions.

Pierre Je Bron Moore and Ramone Jamarr Alston are awaiting trial for the Christmas Day shooting of one-year-old Maleah Williams. Williams was shot while in her mother’s arms outside their Trinity Court apartment as other children played outside. Williams died three days later. While Moore and Alston are being held without bond on first-degree murder charges, unrelated cases have been resolved against each individual.

Alston was recently sentenced to three 10 – 21 month terms on multiple felony charges, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Alston also has a court date set for next Monday on one count of felony possession of stolen goods.

Meanwhile, Moore was sentenced to eight to 10 months in prison on one count of felony fleeing to elude among other charges in connection with a police chase in pursuit of a car driven by Moore where vehicles reached at least 120 miles per hour.

Moore is also facing several other felony and misdemeanor drug charges, among other violations.

Alston and Moore are scheduled to appear in court for the Williams shooting on September 13, when a Rule 24 hearing could be held, which is a hearing before a judge in first-degree murder cases in North Carolina to determine whether the state will be seeking the death penalty in the case.
