Chapel Hill Police have announced 49-year-old Randy Sam Bradford has been arrested in connection with an investigation into sexual abuse allegations at East Chapel Hill High School.

Bradford was a security guard at the school but was fired on December 13, one day after the investigation began. A message to parents was sent out confirming the allegations late last Thursday night but few details were offered. School system officials confirmed to WCHL three employees were fired last week. WCHL initially withheld the names of those employees pending confirmation of their connection to the investigation.

Bradford has been charged with one felony count of a sex act with a student.

Police say the investigation is ongoing but that no other suspects are being sought at this time.

Bradford turned himself in at the Orange County Jail and was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond, according to police.
