A Chatham County man has been charged with rape of a juvenile.
Authorities say that 21-year-old Victor William Campbell Dunker, of Pittsboro, was arrested on Thursday and charged with felony first-degree rape, six counts of felony indecent liberties with a child and five counts of felony statutory rape of a person 13, 14, or 15 years old by a person more than four but less than six years older than the victim.
A release from the Chatham county Sheriff’s Office said the investigation started when law enforcement received a report of a rape of a juvenile on May 21.
Dunker is being held under a $500,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on Monday, November 20.
